Sensation! (250-1651) Color Printing Faxback Doc. # 1882 The Sensation! (250-1651) comes with the file UNIDRV.DLL, file size 8,416 bytes, and file date 10-21-93. The UNIDRV.DLL file is in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. This driver does not mix the colors correctly in Paintbrush. When printing in color to a dot matrix printer, incorrect colors may print. For example, blue may print as dark blue. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem with all versions of the UNIDRV.DLL up to version 3.1.2. To fix this problem, you will need another version of the UNIDRV.DLL file. The file is OLDUNI.DLL (128,240 bytes, 10-24-93) and can be found on the DATA CD in the ORIGINAL\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. To replace the UNIDRV.DLL file, do the following: 1. Exit Windows to a DOS prompt. With the DATA CD in the CD-ROM drive, type the following: XCOPY D:\ORIGINAL\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\OLDUNI.DLL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM \UNIDRV.DLL 2. Type WIN to start Windows. 3. Double-click on the SetRES icon in the VGA Utilities group. 4. Change the Number of Colors to 256 Colors. NOTE: Paintbrush (PBRUSH.EXE) will give a general protection fault in module UNIDRV.DLL if you are in the 65,536 colors mode. 5. Click on "OK", then on "Restart Windows?". Once Windows restarts, Paintbrush will print the proper colors. (sm/rl-8/02/94)
