Memory Expansion Board (250-5030) Installation Faxback Doc. # 2038 The following are instructions for installing the 32-Bit Memory Expansion Board in your computer. If you have any doubt about installing the board in your computer, have the service technician at your local Radio Shack Service Center install it for you. Doing so ensures expert installation but also enables the technician to quickly check to be sure the equipment is functioning properly. If you decide to install the board yourself, be sure to follow the instructions carefully. 1. DO NOT stand on a carpeted floor during the installation. Discharge any built-up static electricity by touching a grounded metal object. Before continuing, you must run the SETUP program on the Utilities disk following the instructions in your Installation and Operation Manual. Doing so identifies the added memory to your system configuration. 2. Be sure to turn off all equipment. If you have not done so, turn off the computer, and disconnect the power cord from the system unit. 3. Remove the computer's cover as described in the "Video Card and Monitor Installation" section of your computer's Installation and Operation Manual. 4. Remove the screw holding the slot cover for the special slot marked 32-Bit Memory, and remove its slot cover. 5. Plug the board into the special socket provided on the main logic board. It is marked 32-Bit Memory. 6. Put the board back in with the screws you previously used to hold the slot cover. 7. Store the slot cover for future use. 8. Replace the computer cover as described in the "Video Card and Monitor Installation" section of your computer's Installation and Operation Manual. 9. Reconnect your power cord, and turn the equipment back on. (RJS/jlc-03/28/94)
