Select the expansion slot in which you wish to install the monochrome display controller card. Remove the screw that holds the rear opening cover for that slot and remove the rear opening cover by lifting it straight up. Save the screw for use when the option card is installed. 3. Slide the option card into the selected expansion slot. Make sure the bottom portion of the option card bracket slides between the edge of the main circuit board and the surface of the rear chassis panel. Also, be certain the front edge of the option card slides into the appropriate guide on the front chassis panel. 4. Ensure the option card is firmly seated in the expansion slot and then fasten it to the rear chassis panel with the screw aside in step 2. 5. Now that your option is in place, look over your work. Ensure your option is correctly installed, circuit board switches are properly set, and all controller cards, etc., have been re-installed. 6. Slide the case back onto the system unit chassis. Make sure the tab at the rear of the case is fitted into the slot in the chassis. 7. Fasten the case to the chassis with the four screws. 8. Set up your computer and connect all cables and cords. 9. Attach the monitor cable to the 9-pin connector on the rear bracket of the monochrome display controller. Secure the connection by tightening the two screws on the cable connector. 10. Turn on your computer and allow it to run through its self diagnostic test. If the self diagnostic test reveals any problems, go over the option installation procedures once again and make sure all hardware is properly installed and all cables and cords are correctly connected.
