SVGA Windows (250-4055) Installation Faxback Doc. # 2179 Accelerator Adapter Install the adapter in any available 16-bit expansion slot. To install the adapter: 1. Disconnect the computer from the AC outlet. Disconnect all peripheral equipment, and open the computer. 2. Remove the screw from a slot cover at the back of the computer. Remove the slot cover. 3. Hold the adapter by the top corners, and align the edge connectors with the expansion slot. Then, press down on the adapter to seat it firmly in the expansion slot. 4. Secure the adapter, using the screw you previously from the slot cover. 5. Close the computer, and reconnect all peripheral equipment. Plug in the computer. Note: Refer to your computer user's guide if you need more information. Note: You will need the following materials: * Medium flat-blade screwdriver * Medium Phillips screwdriver * Computer user's guide * Monitor documentation and specifications * MS-DOS User's Guide and Reference * Software applications and accompanying documentation * Blank, formatted diskettes for creating working copies of the three drivers diskettes packaged with the adapter CAUTION: Static electricity can destroy integrated circuits. Discharge any built-up static electricity by touching a grounded metal object before handling the adapter or touching any components on the main logic board of the computer. Preparing the Computer: Turn off the computer. Disconnect the power cord and all cables from the back of the computer. Remove the computer cover as directed in your computer user's guide. Note: If your computer has on-board VGA circuitry, you must disable this circuitry before installing the SVGA Windows Accelerator Adapter. Refer to your computer user's guide for instructions on disabling the on-board circuitry.
