Accelerator Adapter

Following are some symptoms of video adapter problems, along with possible
solutions:

Series of beeps--one lone, one short, one lone, one short--when you turn on
the system

* The video adapter is not seated properly the expansion slot. Reseat the
  adapter, being sure that it is secure.
* The expansion slot connector on the video adapter is not clean. Clean the
  edge connectors with a pencil eraser. Use caution because the gold plating
  is thin and will not stand up to severe abrasion. To avoid leaving residue
  on the connectors, do not touch them with your bare hand.
* If cleaning and reseating does not solve the problem, contact your
  computer dealer.

No Display:

* There is a loose connection. Be sure that the adapter is firmly seated and
  that the monitor power cable and the monitor signal cable are securely
  connected.
* The system is not configured correctly. Review the installation procedures
  to ensure that the system is configured correctly.
* The monitor is not turned on.
* The brightness and/or contrast controls are not adjusted correctly.
  Readjust the controls.
* The jumper and/or switch settings are incorrect. Verify that all jumpers
  and switches are set correctly.

F1 Setup error when you start up your system:

* The setup utility was not run correctly. The system is not configured
  correctly.
* The battery in the computer might be dead.

Display rolls horizontally or vertically:

* You are using an inappropriate video driver. Verify that you are using the
  correct video drivers for your monitor.

Image is offset on monitor:

* You need to adjust the monitor centering. Refer to your monitor
  documentation.

Distorted images or a blank screen when you run your software:

* The software is not configured for the current video configuration of the
  adapter. Reconfigure the software for VGA or EGA video.
* The software is not compatible with the current video configuration of the
  adapter. Set the adapter to a video standard supported by the software.

Inability to display 1024 X 768 OR 800 X 600 graphics:

* The switch settings might not be correct for your monitor. Be sure the
  switch settings are correct.

Incorrect colors displayed when you use the enhanced bus speed:

* If your computer supports standard and enhanced bus speeds, you might
  experience video problems with the enhanced speed. If you do, switch to
  the standard sped as described in your computer user's guide.
