The Tandy AT Hard Drive Adapter kit enables you to install a 3 1/2" IDE-AT
SmartDrive in your computer without using a drive bay. With this kit, the
SmartDrive plugs directly into an XT-compatible 8-bit expansion slot on the
main logic board. This allows you to use the extra drive bay for another
half-height drive or put a full-height device in a computer with adjoining
half-height/full-height slots.

The Hard Drive Adapter kit includes:

ø A drive mounting frame with a SmartDrive interface board, a power cable,
  and a data cable.

ø Screws:

  --1 small and 2 large round head screws
  --4 small and 6 large flat head screws
  --4 hexagonal extenders

ø Tail brackets for:

  --Tandy 3000/4000 series computers
  --Tandy 1000 SL/TL series computers
  --Tandy 1000 SX/TX series computers

To use this kit, you need the following:

ø Tandy IDE-AT SmartDrive, such as 85MB, 120MB, or 240MB.

ø Tandy 1000,1000 A,1000 SX,1000 SL,1000 SL/2, 1000 TX, 1000 TL,1000 TL/2,
  1000 TL/3, 3000*,3000 HL,3000 NL, 4000,4000 LX or other PC compatible

* Note: Although the owner's manual states that this device can be used in a
        Tandy 3000, the adapter will not physically fit in an expansion
        slot. The 3000's alternating 16-bit and 8-bit slots interfere with
        the adapters hard drive bracket.

Note: This adapter kit is not recommended for the Tandy 1000 RL,1000 RLX,
      1000 RSX, all 2500 series computers, or "low profile" 4000 machines,
      such as the 4850 EP, 4825 SX,4016 SX and 4020 SX.

ø MS-DOS 3.0 or later:

CAUTION: Do not install this kit in a computer which contains an ST-412 or
ST-506 hard drive system or another enabled IDE-XT controller. If you do,
you might damage hard drive data.
