Installing the MS-DOS Video Drivers Use this procedure to copy the video drivers from the System Disc. You will need a 3 1/2-inch, high-capacity diskette to copy the video drivers. It is not necessary to format the diskette. 1. Insert the System Disc into the CD-ROM drive. 2. At the MS-DOS prompt, type "d:" and press ENTER to access the drive. 3. Type "cd\svgadrvr" and press ENTER. 4. Insert the diskette into the diskette drive. 5. Type "makedos" and press ENTER. MAKEDOS formats and copies the driver files from the System Disc to your diskette. 6. Type "a:" and press to access the diskette. 7. Type "install" and press ENTER. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the MS-DOS video drivers. Installing the Window Video Drivers Before installing the Windows drivers, check the video driver that your system is using. You cannot install the Windows drivers if you are running an earlier version of a Windows drivers you are about to install. If an error message is displayed during the following procedure, use Windows SETUP to change to the standard Windows VGA driver. 1. From the Program Manager, select the File menu. Then, select "Run." 2. Insert the system disk into the CD-ROM drive. 3. At the prompt, type "d: \svgadrvr\disk2\install" and press ENTER. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the Windows video drivers. After installing the Windows video drivers, you may want to use the SETRES utility to adjust the resolution of the video mode you use with Windows. Refer to "Using the SETRES Utility." Installing the 1MB Video Driver If you upgrade the video memory from 512KB to 1MB memory after you install the Windows video drivers, you will need to install the 1MB video drivers for Windows. Insert the System Disc into the CD-ROM drive. At the MS-DOS prompt, type: "copy d: \svgadrvr\disk2\system\256_1280.drv c: \windows\ system" and press ENTER to install the 1MB driver on your hard drive. (smc-02/02/94)
