Computer Power Center (260-1365) Description Faxback Doc. # 2563 SURGE INDICATOR -- When the Computer Power Center is plugged into an electrical outlet, the SURGE indicator lamp lights. This tells the user that the spike protection circuit is working. If a large surge occurs causing the protection circuit to fail, the indicator light goes out, denoting that suge protection is no longer available. Without this protection, there is a chance that damage could occur to any device plugged into the unit. Take the Computer Power Center to your nearest Radio Shack Service Center for repairs to this important circuitry. 15 AMP Circuit Breaker with RESET Button -- If you exceed the recommended current rating, the red circuit breaker will pop out. To restart your system, simply push the button back in. If this button pops out again, something plugged into the Computer Power Center is drawing too much current. Note the maximum wattage of the devices to be plugged into the four outlets. This maximum wattage is usually specified on the back of a unit. Also note that there are two pairs of outlets with a combined current rating of 480W (4 Amps) per pair (not per outlet). Caution: Do not exceed the specified wattage for each of the outlets (or combinations of outlets) of the Computer Power Center. Refer to the wattage labels on the top cover of the unit next to the outlets. Any appliance with a heating element (such as a hair dryer, coffee pot, curling iron, floor heater, etc.) might exceed the rated capacity of any outlet, and should be checked very carefully for correct wattage ratings.
