MPC Audio Adapter (250-1099) Cables Faxback Doc. # 2715 CD-ROM DRIVE CABLE CONNECTIONS Refer to your CD-ROM drive documentation to install the drive. Refer to your computer user's guide for information on selecting a drive bay and locating the bays mounting holes. CAUTION: To prevent damage to your equipment, discharge any accumulated static electricity from your body by touching a grounded metal object before touching an adapter or a drive. CDR-1100 CONNECTIONS 1. Connect the audio cable labeled 870-60098 to the audio connector on the drive. The drive end of the audio cable is indicated on the label. 2. If you have not yet installed the drive, connect the data cable (included with the drive) to the drive, install the drive, and connect a power cable as directed in the CD-ROM drive documentation. DO NOT INSTALL THE DRIVE INTERFACE ADAPTER. If you installed the drive earlier, remove the audio cable, disconnect the data cable from the interface adapter, and remove the drive interface adapter. 3. Connect the other end of the data cable to the CDR-1100 interface (JP3) on the audio adapter: Refer to "Installing the Audio Adapter" to install the audio adapter and connect the other end of the audio cable. CDR-1000, CDR-1501, OR OTHER CD-ROM DRIVE CONNECTIONS 1. Connect the appropriate audio cable (provided with the audio adapter) to the drive audio connector. The drive end of the audio cable is indicated on the label. -Connect the cable labeled 87060113 if you have a CDR-1000. -Connect the cable labeled 87060114 if you have a CDR-1501. 2. If you installed the CD-ROM drive earlier, disconnect the audio cable from the drive interface adapter. If you have not yet installed the drive and interface adapter, refer to the drive documentation and do so now. connect the data cable (included with the drive) and a power cable as directed. DO NOT CONNECT THE AUDIO CABLE TO THE INTERFACE ADAPTER. NOTE: Your drive interface adapter will be similar to the one in the illustration. (smc-11/18/93)
