This section will help you correct problems you might encounter while
setting up and using your computer.

SETUP PROBLEMS

-Are the system cords plugged in securely?

-Is the power outlet operating correctly?  (Check by plugging another
 device into the outlet.)

-Is the computer turned on?

-Are all expansion adapters firmly seated?

-Is the information entered with the setup utility correct?

-Is the battery properly connect?  Does it need to be replaced?

-Is your hard drive properly configured?

BLANK SCREEN

-Are the system cords plugged in securely?

-Are the computer and monitor turned on?

-Are the video setting entered through the setup utility correct?

-Have you adjusted the monitor brightness and/or contrast?

-Are all switches and jumpers set correctly?

-Are the IDE drive data and power cables connected correctly?

NO KEYBOARD RESPONSE

-Is the keyboard cord plugged in correctly and securely?

-Is the computer turned on?

-Is the keyboard unlocked?

-Do you need to enter the keyboard password?

OPTIONS NOT WORKING

-Is the option expansion adapter firmly seated?

-Are all system cords plugged in securely?

-Are all switches and jumpers set correctly?

-Was the setup utility run after installation?

-Is the information entered with the setup utility correct?

ROLLING DISPLAY, DISTORTED IMAGES, OR A BLANK SCREEN WHEN YOU RUN YOUR
SOFTWARE

-Are you using the correct video drivers for your monitor?

-Is the software  configured for the current video configuration?  (The
 factory setting is VGA or EGA video.)

IMAGE IS OFFSET ON MONITOR

-Do you need to adjust the monitor's centering control?

INABILITY TO DISPLAY HIGHER RESOLUTION GRAPHICS

-Is the appropriate refresh rate selected through the setup utility?

-Is the amount of installed video memory adequate for the selected
 resolution?
