Power Switching System (260-0203) Hints and Tips Faxback Doc. # 2803 The Power Switching System minimizes transients and noise generated by other electrical devices. It does not regulate voltage or current, nor can it protect the contents of memory against power failures or brownouts. If the SPIKE PROTECTOR indicator alone does not light (meaning the transient protection circuitry is not functioning properly), the spike protector was subjected to a transient beyond its rated capacity and was damaged. If all panel LED indicators are off, the circuit breaker requires resetting. If the metal-oxide varistors in the spike protector stop functioning, current is being supplied without spike protection. In this case, you will need to have the metal oxide varistors and protective fusing circuitry replaced at a Radio Shack Service Center. (ALL-8/29/94)
