3200 (250-1633) Battery Faxback Doc. # 2831 Replace the battery with a 3.0V battery only. See your local Radio Shack store for a replacement battery. Use of a non-specified battery may present a risk of fire or explosion. The battery part number is CS-0260. Batteries may explode if mishandled. Do not recharge, disassemble, heat above 100 degrees Centigrade, incinerate, or expose contents to water. Lithium batteries contain hazardous material and should be recycled. In some cases, it is illegal to dispose of these batteries as solid waste. If the computer reports a CMOS or battery failure error, you may need to replace the battery. Run System Setup to check you configuration settings. If the settings are lost, the computer battery has run out and needs to be replaced. To replace the battery: 1. Turn off the computer, unplug the power cord and disconnect any peripheral devices. Remove the computer-chassis cover. 2. Locate the battery (See Layout). 3. Remove any add-in boards that prevent you from reaching the battery. 4. Remove the lithium battery coin cell from the system board by lifting the battery straight up and out. 5. Insert the new battery, lining up the three legs on the battery with the small holes on the system board. Press down firmly, taking care not to bend the legs. 6. Once the battery is in place, reinstall any add-in boards you removed. Replace the computer-chassis cover. Reconnect peripheral devices and plug in the power cord. Turn on the system. 7.
