To send a FAX from Windows, either set PhoenixFAX as the default printer or choose it as the specific printer from the printer setup within that Windows application. Once the PhoenixFAX driver is set as the current printer, you can FAX from any Windows application by clicking on "File", then on "Print". 1. The "Print a Fax" box will appear. 2. Choose "Select Fax Recipient" 3. Choose a name or, if none are listed, click on "Add Contact". Once a contact is added, highlight it and click on "OK". 4. Hit the "OK" button to transmit FAX. Note: The default page size for Phoenix MicroFAX is 8.64" W x 10" L. Receiving a FAX A. Receiving a FAX automatically. There are two ways to receive a fax automatically. 1. Receiving a FAX using Phone Center. See Faxback Doc. # 2747, section II-F, step 5. 2. Receiving a FAX using Phoenix MicroFAX. 1. Disable the Phone Center. (If Phone Center is disabled, go to step 2. To disable it, go into Phone Center, click on "Settings", then on "Disable Phone Center".) 2. Open Phoenix MicroFAX from the PhoenixComm group. 3. Click on "Options", then click on "Receive Options". 4. Under the "Receive Options" menu, check the following options: Auto Receive: Yes File Cleanup: Yes Rings to answer: 1-9 (default = 1) 5. Click on "OK" and close Phoenix MicroFAX. 6. Double click on "Comserver". Once Comserver is running, Phoenix MicroFax will answer the phone after the selected number of rings. B. Receiving a FAX Manually. 1. Open Phone Center, click on "Settings", then on "Disable Phone Center". 2. Click on "OK", then close Phone Center. 3. Double click on "Phoenix MicroFAX" from the PhoenixComm group. 4. Click on "FAX", then on "Manual Receive". 5. Once you hear the FAX tones (CNG signal), click on the "OK" for "Manual Receive". When you hear the Sensation's modem pick up the phone line, immediately hang up the phone extension. Replacing the PhoenixFAX Driver If the PhoenixFAX driver has been removed from the "Installed Printers" box, follow these steps: 1. From the Program Manager, go into "Control Panel". 2. Double-click on "Printers". 3. Click on "Add". 4. Highlight "Install Unlisted or Updated Printer", then click on "Install". 5. Insert the DATA CD into the CD-ROM drive. 6. In the "Install Driver" box, type D:\ORIGINAL\WINDOWS\SYSTEM 7. Click on "OK". 8. When the list of drivers comes up, highlight "EZFAX", then click on "OK". EZFAX is the same driver as PHOENIXFAX. The name is changed in the WIN.INI file under [drivers]. Both use the file "FAXDRV.DRV". 9. Make sure the EZFAX is on COM 2. 10. To use the FAX, highlight "EZFAX" and click on "Set As Default Printer". You can also select it under "Printer Setup" in the application. (sm/rl-5/26/94)
