Re-initializing the Smartdrive

It might occasionally be necessary to re-initialize you hard drive.  To 
do so, complete the following procedure.

For a computer with Deskmate in ROM:

1. Insert the Reinstallation Diskette into Drive A.
   
Note: If you are using a 1000RL System, this diskette came with your system. 
If you purchased your hard drive separately , you created this diskette 
when you initialized the hard drive the first time.

2. Press RESET.

3. Press TAB until you highlight the PROGRAMS box, and press the down arrow
   until you hilight HINSTALL>PDM.

4. Follow the prompts to reinitialize the hard drive.

For a computer without Deskmate in the ROM:

1. At the A:> prompt, with your MS-DOS diskette in the drive, type FDISK and
   press <ENTER>.

2. Follow the prompts to create a DOS partition and make it active.

3. After you have complete this procedure you will nee to FORMAT the Smart-
   drive with the following command: FORMAT A: /S. Press <ENTER>.
