AST 6066D (250-0404) Support Library CD Faxback Doc. # 3197 Advantage Adventure In order to properly install the Support Library CD-ROM on the new AST Advantage 6066d computer follow these steps. 1. Before begining the installation you will need to delete the vbrun300.dll file from the c:\windows\system directory. You will do the following: a. Click on File and the Exit Windows. Click on OK. b. Type: cd c:\windows\system and press c. del vbrun300.dll d. cd c:\ e. Type: win On a default computer, you will to into the AST Works desktop. 2. Click on File. 3. Click on Desktop as Shell to remove the check mark. Then click on Yes to the question. This will change the shell to Program Manager. 4. Click on File and then Exit. Click on Yes to exit Windows. 5. Restart Windows by typing win at the c:\ prompt. 6. You will now go into Windows under Program Manager. 7. Put the Support Library CD-ROM into the drive. 8. Click on File and the click on Run. 9. Type in: d:\setup and press . 10. Click on Continue (twice) to accept the default drives. Once it has finished the installation, you will want to change the shell back to the AST Works desktop you will do the following: 11. Close the Support Library CD by clicking on the box in the upper left hand corner. Click on Close. 12. Find the AST Works Icon and double click on the icon. 13. Double click on the Desktop Icon. 14. Click on File. 15. Click on Desktop as Shell to place a check mark by it and then click on Yes. 16. Close the AST Works by clicking on the box in the upper left hand corner. Click on Close. 17. Click on File and the click on Exit Windows. Click on OK. 18. Type in win to go back into Windows. This will bring you to the AST Works Desktop. To access the Support Library CD go to File and Click on Program Manager. You will then double click on the Support Library Icon. To go back to the AST Works Desktop, click on File and then Close to go back to the desktop. (CD/jlc-09/28/94)
