The In Control desktop contains tools you might need in a home office, as
well as tools to backup and organize your files.  It contains the
following applications:

Backup:        Allows you to make backup copies of files from your hard
               drive diskettes, restore the files from the diskettes back
               to your hard drive, or compare versions of files on backup
               diskettes with those on your hard drive.  See on-line help
               for more information.

Calculator:    Provides an on-screen calculator for making quick
               mathematical calculations.  See your Windows documentation.

Calendar:      Provides a monthly calendar and daily appointment book.
               See your Windows documentation.

Card File:     Keeps track of any information that you record on an index
               card.  See your Windows documentation.

Clock:         Displays the current time.  See your Windows documentation.

Notepad:       Lets you type notes or memos.  See your Windows
               documentation.

File Manager:  Organizes your files and directories.  See your Windows
               documentation.


INSIDE

The Inside desktop contains tools available from Microsoft Windows, plus
a demonstration of WinMate's capabilities.  It includes the following
applications:

  WinMate Demo:        Displays an audio-visual overview of the abilities
                       of your computer and its software.  While the
                       program is running, a Quick Info button is
                       available in the lower right-hand corner of the
                       screen.  Clicking on this button provides a list
                       showing the hardware and software included with
                       your computer.

  Uninstall Demo:      Removes the demo program permanently from your
                       computer's hard disk.

  Windows Setup:       Displays information about your current Windows
                       settings.

  Print Manager:       Provides options so you can customize your printer
                       setup.

  Clipboard Viewer:    Provides a view of the information stored in the
                       temporary Clipboard area.

  Macro Recorder:      Records a series of keystrokes or mouse actions.

  Character Map:       Provides extended characters and characters in
                       special symbol fonts.

  PIF Editor:          Lets you make changes in a program's information
                       file so you can run a non-Windows application.

  Object Packager:     Lets you embed information within another file.

  Video Setup:         Lets you set the resolution of your monitor.

  Windows Tutorial:    Helps you learn to use your Windows program.

  Control Panel:       Changes your Windows settings for things such as
                       color, fonts, and printers.
