Some applications in WinMate allow you to print your work.  If the printer
you are using is not specified in Print Setup, you need to specify your
printer.

In most cases when you choose Print Setup from the File menu, you only
need to change the basic print setup options.  However, you may need to
use some of the more advanced features available for printing in WinMate.

    If you experience problems during printing, you may need to try
    another printer driver.  Check the documentation that came with
    your printer to find another driver you can use.  To install a
    printer driver, refer to your Windows documentation.

    Your printer may have advanced features, such as gray scale,
    dithering, and encapsulated postscript (EPS) capabilities.  For
    information on setting up these options, see your Windows and printer
    documentation.

Changing the Basic Print Setup Options

Changing Printers Without Exiting the Program

  To change your printer setup while you are using a program, follow these
  procedures.  All but the first steps are optional; you don't need to
  change every setting.

1.  Click on Print Setup from the File menu.  The Print Setup dialog
    box appears.

2.  To select a printer, choose the appropriate one from the printer
    box.

   Default Printer:    Uses the default printer, if you have chosen one.
                       The default printer appears in parentheses below
                       the option.

   Specific Printer:  Enables you to select a printer other than the
                      default.

   If you select Specific Printer: click on the down arrow icon to
   scroll through the list of options, and highlight the printer you
   want to use.

3.  To change the page format, choose the appropriate format in the
    Orientation box.

    Portrait:  Prints the information using a vertical page format.

    Landscape:  Prints the information using a horizontal page format.

4.  To change the paper size, select the appropriate paper size in the
    Size: field.

    Click on the down arrow icon, and then highlight the paper size.

5.  To change the paper source your printer uses, select the appropriate
    paper source for your printer at the Source: field.

    Click on the down arrow icon, and then highlight the paper source.

6.  Click on OK.

Now when you choose the File menu's Print option, WinMate prints the
information using the setup options you have specified.


To Set Up a New Printer

To install a new printer, go to the Inside desktop, and double-click on
the Control Panel icon.  In the Control Panel window, click on the
Printers icon.  Select your printer from the List of Printers.  Click
on the Install button.

If your printer does not appear on the List of Printers, see your Windows
documentation, or the documentation that came with your printer.
