3200 (250-1633) Stopping the DEMO Faxback Doc. # 3261 You may receive a call on not being able to stop the Demo on the 3200. There are two ways to run the Demo. One is from Winmate (INSIDE) and the other is from Program Manager (Radio Shack Demo Setup). By default, if ran from Winmate the Demo will run through once. It can be altered and set to run continuously by editing the file: C:\Winmate\demo\demo.spt Change the line under (EXIT) from CMD=END to CMD=START. By default, there is nothing under (END). If the file has been altered to run the Demo continuously it can be stopped by (CTRL) (ALT) (ESC) and using the Task List. You will not be able to exit Winmate or Program Manager until the above file has been altered back to CMD=END. You may do this from Windows Notepad. If ran from Program Manager (Radio Shack Demo Setup), by default, it will run continuously. To STOP the demo you MUST reset the system and press F5 after the memory count. From the DOS prompt, edit the files: System.ini Win.ini Mmscript.ini These files are located in the Windows directory. In the Win.ini file, change the lines under the [Windows] section, to: run=WRAPPER.EXE Programs=com exe bat pif ScreenSaveActive=0 ScreenSaveTimeOut=120 In the System.ini file, change the line under the [boot] section to: shell=desktop.exe SCRNSAVE.EXE=(NONE) Remove the line"taskman.exe=" from under the [boot] section. In the Mmscript.ini file, remove: [windows] load= run=WRAPPER.EXE programs=com exe bat pif ScreenSaveActive=0 ScreenSaveTimeOut=120 [Desktop] Wallpaper=rs7,bmp [boot] SCRNSAVE.EXE=(None) shell=desktop.exe These files must be altered or the Demo will continue to run as soon as Windows restarts.
