Local Bus Video With 512KB (upgradeable to 1 MB) of video memory and on-board 16-bit local bus video, the Advantage! 6033s boosts graphic performance with the ability to quickly display up to 32,178 colors and resolutions as high as 800x600. By enhancing Windows performance, graphic programs, games and word processing run smoother. 3 16-bit ISA slots/ Three expansion slots and three drive bays 3 external drive gives the Advantage! 6033s ample room to add bays peripherals. A CD-ROM, tape backup, or an additional floppy drive may easily be added into the available drive bays. Internally, a sound card, networking card, or a variety of other 16-bit cards may be added to the expansion slots. EPA Certified The Advantage! 6000 series is certified by the United States environmental Protection Agency as an Energy Star computer, commonly known as a "Green PC". The system can power-down to under 30 watts when not in use, reducing energy consumption, and providing a substantial cost saving per year. FRONT PANEL Power Switch Turns the system on and off. 3 Drive Bays One 3/5" occupied and two 5.25" external drive bays. Floppy Drives One 3/5" 1.44 MB high density floppy drive is pre- installed. INTERNAL HARDWARE Expandability 3 16-bit ISA Three 16-bit ISA expansion slots are available for slots customizing the system. The slots are located on a riser card which places the cards horizontally to the system board. By installing any of the hundreds of different types of cards available, including sound cards, video capture cards, networking cards, SCSI adapters, etc., the system may be easily configured to meet the user's specific needs. 2 SIMM Sockets Standard 4 MB of RAM is expandable to 32 MB using 1 x 8 JEDEC 72-pin SIMMS. Uses 4 MB or 16MB modules. 1 Internal Drive One internal 3.5" drive bay houses IDE hard drive. Floppy Controller/ Both controllers are integrated on the motherboard. IDE Controller The floppy controller can support up to three external storage devices and the IDE controller supports the hard drive. Performance 486 Processing The Advantage! 6033s utilizes the 486 SX/33 family of processors. All models are upgradeable to Intel's Pentium OverDrive processor by way of a LIF socket. Local Bus Video Integrated 16-bit local bus video on the motherboard. The local bus uses the Cirrus Logic 5424 video chip set for high-performance and speed. Video Memory Integrated 512 KB of video memory on the motherboard is upgradeable to 1 MB. The video can display 32,178 thousand colors at 640x480 resolution and 16 colors are 800x600. With the video at its full capacity of 1 MB, the video can display 16.7 million colors at 640x480 resolution and 256 colors at the highest resolution of 1024x768. Flicker-Free Video A 72 Hz refresh rate creates an eye-pleasing, flicker-free display. Bundled Software Pre-installed on the hard drive are AST Works, and the latest versions of Microsoft DOS and Windows. Additional software applications are also bundled. Compatibility Through strategic alliances with companies such as Novell and Microsoft, AST guarantees complete compatibility with other major software, networking and hardware manufacturers.
