AST Advantage! 6033s (250-0403) Demo Install Faxback Doc. # 3277 Rolling Demo Instructions for the Advantage 6033s only THIS IS IMPORTANT! What is a Rolling Demo Rolling demos offer the benefit of giving the customer a powerful, interactive sales demonstration at their own leisure. Through video and sound clips, the rolling demo invites the customer to participate in an exciting showcase of the system, thus heightening customer interest and increasing sales potential. Security Benefit One of the most aggravating problems in retail computer sales today is damage to floor demo systems caused inadvertently by curious and inexperienced users, or intentionally by malicious customers. In either case, retail stores are constantly faced with systems that have had hard drives erased, critical files deleted, passwords installed by customers, etc. The rolling demo gives the customer the ability to get a "hands on" feel of the computer but lets the store maintain "hands off" protection of vital system data. For the 6033s only! The 6033s rolling demo setup is unique to the product line. Installing the 6033s Rolling demos are pre-installed on every Rolling Demo system. In order to utilize the demo for the first time: 1. Turn the system on. 2. After ASTWorks starts, select File/Run. 3. Type in USEDEMO, then press ENTER. This will install the demo as a screen saver and will start every time Windows/ASTWorks is started. Stopping the Demo To stop the rolling demo, simply type in DEMOCUT, then press ENTER. You may then demonstrate any feature on the system. After thirty seconds of inactivity, the demo will restart. Uninstalling the Demo To uninstall the demo, select File/Run, type in RDUNINST, then press ENTER. You will prompted whether you want the demo deleted off the hard drive. If you answer YES, the demo is uninstalled and the demo contents are deleted off the hard drive. IF you answer NO, the demo is uninstalled and the demo contents are NOT deleted from the hard drive. Choosing NO is the preferred method because it allows the demo to reinstalled by simply running USEDEMO. (ALL-10/19/94)
