This printer can be connected to personal computers and host systems with a standard parallel or optional serial interface. Compatible with MS- Windows and may other software applications commonly used with this class of printer, it can be used in most working environments. The resident firmware emulates the HP DeskJet 500C printer (extended PCL-111 commands). Additional emulations (EPSON LQ 850, IBM Proprinter 4207, including character sets) and fonts, which increase and extend the printer's operating range, are available as options from the manufacturer. The standard paper handling devices allow the use of a wide range of paper and envelope types and sizes. An optional color kit, consisting of a color print head (cyan, yellow, and magenta), its garage with space for two print head, one black and one color, to store the print head not currently in use, and an instruction booklet, is available as a separate item. Configured in the appropriate operating environment, this printer is the ideal output tool for Word Processing and Desk-Top Publishing applications. (ALL-11/17/94)
