Desktop and Backdrop Files

Replacing the AST Works Desktop and Backdrop Files

The doors on the AST Works desktop use the file extension .DTP for desktop
pictures.  These files are on the Advantage! DATA CD.  The path to these
files is:

     D:\ORIGINAL\ASTWORKS\PICTURES\DESKTOP

On the hard drive, the path to these files is:

     C:\ASTWORKS\PICTURES\DESKTOP

Should these files be damaged or deleted, they can be replaced by placing
the DATA CD in the CD-ROM drive, and typing:

     COPY D:\ORIGINAL\ASTWORKS\PICTURES\DESKTOP\*.DTP
     C:\ASTWORKS\PICTURES\DESKTOP <Enter>

This will copy all of the desktop picture files to their proper place on
the hard drive.

Adding or Replacing a Program Icon In AST Works

1.  Click on the desired group you want to put the icon into.

2.  Click on "Design".

3.  Click on "Add", then "Program".

4.  For Title, enter a title name.  i.e. "Killer Game"

5.  For Command Line, enter:

    C:\pathname\filename.ext

6.  For Working Directory, enter:

    C:\pathname

7.  Click on "Icon" To use the programs icon.

8.  Click "OK".

The icon should appear on the screen.

9.  Drag the new icon to wherever you want it to be.

10.  Click on the return icon.

11.  Click on the Home icon.

12.  Click on "Yes" for "Save Current Changes?".
