You can power your receiver from:

    Four alkaline AA batteries

    Household AC power (with an optional AC adapter)

    Vehicle battery power (with an optional DC adapter)

INSTALLING BATTERIES

You can power your radio from four AA batteries.  When the sound weakens,
replace the batteries.  For longest operation, we recommend alkaline
batteries such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-552.

1.  Press the recess on the battery cover and push it in the direction of
    the arrow to open the battery compartment.

NOTE:  Before installing the batteries, verify that the MW frequency step
       selector switch is set to the correct position for your country. 
       In the USA, move the switch to the 10K position.  In other
       countries, set it to 9K.

2.  Place the batteries in the compartment as indicated by the polarity
    symbols (+ and -) marked in the compartment.

CAUTIONS:  Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type.

           Never mix fresh with old batteries.

           If you do not plan to use the DX-370 for a month or more,
           remove and store the batteries.  Connected batteries might leak
           chemicals and corrode or damage electronic circuits.

3.  Replace the battery door.

NOTE:  When the batteries weaken, the low battery indicator appears. 
       Replace the batteries with fresh ones.

USING HOUSEHOLD AC

You can power your receiver from household AC power using an optional AC
adapter, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 273-1655.  Plug the small connector
of the adapter into the receiver's 6V DC jack.  Plug the adapter into a
standard AC outlet.

NOTE:  Do not remove the batteries when you use AC power.  The internal
       batteries supply power to maintain the clock and memory channels.

USING A VEHICLE BATTERY

You can operate the receiver in a car, boat, or recreational vehicle that
has a 12 Volt DC, negative ground electrical system.  Use a DC adapter
(such as Cat. No. 14-844).

Insert the adapter plug into the 6V DC jack on the left of the receiver.
Set the adapter's 6V/9V selector to 6V.  Plug the other end of the adapter
into the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.

NOTE:  When you use the adapter, the internal batteries automatically
       disconnected.

CAUTION:  Do not let the adapter's barrel plug touch any metal parts on
          the vehicle after the adapter is plugged into the lighter
          socket.  If you do, a harmful short can occur that can damage
          the adapter or the vehicle's electrical system.
