JP 250 (260-2873) Selftest Faxback Doc. # 4141 Performing a Selftest: This printer has a self-test function that checks the operation of the printing system and the print quality. After installing the printer, execute the test print. The output from the test prints differ according to the printer control mode. IBM, Epson, and Canon Mode: Ripple Pattern Test: All characters are printed repeatedly in the default mode. To start the ripple pattern test, make sure that paper is loaded and turn the power switch on while holding down the LF/FF switch until the buzzer sounds. To end the test, turn the power switch off. IBM and Canon Mode: (This test is not available in Epson Mode.) ALL Modes Test: All characters are printed out in every print mode and pitch described below. To start the all modes test, turn the power switch on while holding down the PITCH switch. To end the test, turn the power switch off. 1. HQ proportional 2. HQ prestige 3. HQ pica 4. HQ double-high 5. Economy elite 6. Economy pica 7. HQ double-wide 8. Economy condensed 9. Economy condensed subscript 10. HQ emphasized prestige 11. HQ emphasized pica Note: The self test print can be controlled by the following switch operations: 1. To stop test print, press the same switch used to start the self test print. 2.
