ON/OFF LINE  | PITCH/MARGIN

Sets the printer to on line or off line.

PITCH/MARGIN: To enter the pitch-set or margin-set mode, press and hold
this button for 1 second while the printer is on line. The ON/OFF LINE
indicator flashes.

ON/OFF LINE: The printer goes off line when a paper-out error occurs. To
continue printing when this happens, press this button. The printer goes on
line and prints one more line; then it stops and goes off line again. If
the printer buffer contains no data when you try to print one more line,
the printer stays on line until you send one line of data to the printer.

During the self test, press this button to stop the test.

To select the Hex Dump mode, press this button while you turn on the
printer.

LF/FF | --->

LF/FF: In off-line mode, press this button to advance the paper one line.
Press and hold the button to begin a form feed.

--->: In the pitch set, margin-set, of font-set modes, press this button to
move the print head to the right.

To begin the self test, press this button while you turn on the printer.

HIGH SPEED | FONT| <---

HIGH SPEED: Sets or cancels the HS (high speed) mode when the printer is on
line. When you select the HS mode, the HIGH SPEED indicator turns on. When
you cancel the HS mode, the indicator goes off. If there is data in the
printer buffer, the printer prints the buffer contents before it enters or
exits the HS mode. In the HS mode, LQ (letter quality) characters and
180/360 dpi and the printing speed doubles. All text and graphics print
bi-directionally in this mode.

Note: The HS mode is primarily for checking page layout; the print result
might not be the same as it would be in draft of LQ mode. Also, if you try
to print graphics intermixed with text while in HS mode, some text might
print over the graphics.

FONT: To enter the font-set mode, press this button when the printer is
off line.

<---: In the pitch-set, margin-set, or font-set modes, press this button to
move the print head to the left.

CUT | PARK | SET

CUT: When you finish printing on fanfold paper, press CUT while the printer
is on line to advance the paper to tear-off position. The paper advances
about 0.8" (the length from the feeding position to the cutter). Press
again to retract the paper to the original position.

PARK: Press in the off-line mode to move fanfold paper to the parked
position. This feature lets you use single-sheet paper without removing
fanfold paper from the printer.

SET: In the pitch-set, margin-set, or font-set modes, press this button to
store the selected setting into memory. To start the optional color
self-test, press this button while you turn on the printer.
