DMP-133 (260-2815) Menu Settings Faxback Doc. # 4290 SETTING THE CHARACTER PITCH You can set the printer's character pitch on the control panel. This method is referred to as the front panel method. Once you set the pitch by the front panel method, any pitch setting control code sent from the computer has no effect on the printing. To change pitch selection from the computer or your application software, use the default CODE setting of pitch. To restore the pitch to the default CODE, turn power off and then back on again. 1. Be sure the ON/OFF LINE indicator is lit. 2. Press and hold the SELECT (ON/OFF LINE) button until the ON/OFF LINE indicator blinks. 3. Press the ---> (LINE FEED) or <--- (FORM FEED) button to move the print head to the position indicated on the printer cover you wish to set as a character pitch. 4. Press the SET (NLQ) button to set the character pitch. When you select the default CODE, you can change the character pitch by sending control codes from the computer. SETTING THE MARGINS You can set the printer's left and right margins from the front panel. After setting margins in this mode, you can change the margins through the software as described in the "Left and Right Margin" section of the DMP 133 Dot Matrix Technical Reference Manual.
