DMP-240 COLOR PRINTER DRIVER FOR DESKMATE

The DMP-240 Color Printer Driver For DeskMate is available, by using a Mod-
ule request from Customer Service only. The order may be placed with any SE
in this department.

PRINTER DRIVER FOR THE TANDY DMP-240 COLOR PRINTER

Using the color driver diskette, you can enhance your DeskMate product (Ver-
sion 3 or later) so that you can take advantage of your new Tandy DMP-240 
Color Printer's ability to emulate the IBM Proprinter and the Epson LQ Prin-
ter. If you are already using a color driver with DeskMate, you will not 
need this one.

INSTALLING THE PRINTER DRIVER

ON A DISKETTE-BASED SYSTEM

You need to copy the printer driver DMPDE.RES to EACH diskette that cont-
ains applications that you print.
1. Insert the enclosed diskette into Drive A.
2. From DeskMate's desktop, select Copy from the <F2> File Menu.
   A dialogue box appears.
3. At the Copy from: prompt, type a:dmpde.res.
4. At the Copy to: prompt, type b:

   NOTE: If you have only one drive, you can still indicate Drive B.
         A screen message tells you when to switch diskettes.
5. Press ENTER.
If your application diskette does not contain enough room for the printer
driver, you can copy the driver to another diskette. You will, however, 
have to change diskettes when you print.

ON A HARD DISK SYSTEM

You need to copy the printer driver DMPDE.RES to the directory that cont-
ains your DeskMate files or to the directory that contains the applicat-
ions(s) that you print.

1. Insert the enclosed diskette into Drive A.
2. From DeskMate's desktop, select Copy from the <F2> File Menu.
   A dialogue box appears.
3. At the Copy from: prompt, type a:dmpde.res.
4. At the Copy to: prompt, type the name of the directory where DeskMate is
   located. For example, if DeskMate is located in the directory deskmate, 
   you would type c:/deskmate.

SELECTING THE DRIVER

You can make this driver your default driver by following these instruct-
ions:

1. Select Setup from the Accessory Menu (F10).
2. Select the Printer Setting Option Menu <F2>.
   A dialogue box appears.
3. Choose OTHER in the Printers list box
4. At the Driver name: prompt, type dmpde.
5. Choose any other applicable settings.
6. Press ENTER.

Each time you select the Print option from the <F2> File Menu, DeskMate 
will use this printer driver.

HINTS ON USING THE DMP-240 DRIVER

The colors that the printer driver uses for printing are determined by the
colors you have set on your video monitor. You can change these colors us-
ing the Setup option on the Accessory Menu(F10). The following list of 
monitor types indicates the type of colors you can expect:

Hercules                             Prints the default DeskMate colors
                                     (NOTE: For best results a  color mon-
                                     itor is recommended.)
EGA/VGA Monochrome                   Prints the colors you set, but your
                                     monitor only displays the colors in
                                     various shades of gray
All Color Monitors                   Prints colors displayed on screen as
                                     closely as possible
