The DWP-410 Paper Guide (Letter Guide) can make paper feeding more effici-
ent.

To install the Paper Guide:
1. Insert the two mounting clips into the slots on each side of the printer
   (behind the paper insertion opening).  The lips of the clips should be 
   to the rear and facing each other.
2. Snap the Guide onto the clips.
3. Raise the Extenders if necessary.

PAPER LOADING

You can use either fanfold computer paper or single-sheet typewriter paper
with the DWP-410.  If you're using fanfold paper, you'll find it best to 
use the optional/extra DWP-410 Bidirectional Tractor Feed unit (260-1459).

There are two ways to load paper into the DWP-410 -- manual and automatic.

MANUAL PAPER LOADING (FRICTION FEED)
1. Gently pull the Paper Bail away from the platen.
2. Set the platen Pressure Lever to the middle position (pressure ON).
3. Insert the paper behind the Platen and turn the Platen manually (turn 
   the Paper Advance Knob) so that the paper advances past the Card Guide.
4. Set the Platen Pressure Lever to the rear position (pressure OFF) so the
   paper goes freely back and forth.
5. Align and position the paper at the left margin.
6. Hold the paper in position and move the Platen Pressure Lever to the 
   middle position (pressure ON). The paper will not move freely.
7. Lower the Paper Bail so that it is against the paper.
8. Position the paper manually to the first line of printing by turning the
   Paper Advance Knob.

AUTOMATIC PAPER LOADING (FRICTION FEED)
It's a good idea to install the Paper Guide before automatically loading 
the paper.
1. Stand the paper up in the Paper Guide.
2. Gently pull the Platen Pressure Lever towards you, to the front of the
   Printer.  The Paper Bail will move away from the Platen and the Carriage
   will move to the center of the Platen.
3. Gently push the Platen Pressure Lever to the middle position.  The Pla-
   ten will turn, advancing the paper, the Bail will move toward the paper,
   and the Carriage will return to the left margin.
4. Position the paper manually to the first line of printing.

PRINT IMPRESSION SWITCH

If you're printing on a single-thickness of paper, set this Switch to M
(medium) of L (low). If you print on multi-part forms, set it to H (high).

We suggest you initially set the Switch to M and adjust it according to 
your needs.

PAPER THICKNESS ADJUSTMENT

If you're printing on a single-thickness of paper, set this Lever to 1. If
you print on multi-part forms, set it to correspond to the number of copies
you're printing on.

We suggest you initially set the Switch to 1 and adjust it according to 
your needs.
