SETTING THE AUTO-ANSWER JUMPER
The auto-answer jumper set your modem's auto-answer default. (See the
illustration below) When you set connector J3 to auto-answer, the modem
defaults to auto answer after one ring.  When you set the jumper to disable
auto answer, the modem defaults to manual answer.  You can still change the
auto answer operation by changing the value in Register S0.
