DMP 2120 (260-2811) Self-Test Faxback Doc. # 4618 PERFORMING A SELF-TEST The DMP-2120 has a built-in self-test feature to check printing quality and general printer operation before you begin using it. The self-test prints the currently selected options, the revision lever of the printer's firmware, and then a test pattern to check the printer's performance. STARTING THE SELF-TEST Start the self-test by turning on power while holding down the [FUNCTION] switch. To perform the self-test after the printer is powered-up: 1. In ON-LINE:READY mode, press [SETUP] while pressing [ALT]. When the dis- play changes to SETUP MODE, release the buttons. The display shows FUNCTN:- STYLE. 2. Press the [FUNCTION] button three times to advance the display to FUNCTN:SELFTST. 3. Start printing the self-test print pattern by pressing the [SELECT] but- ton. The display shows SELF TEST PRINT. STOPPING THE SELF-TEST Stop the self-test by pressing either the [ITEM] or [SELECT] switch. The display then shows PAUSE. Restart the self-test by pressing the [SELECT] button again. Stop the self-test by turning off power or by pressing the [EXIT] button. Printing stops, and the display shows ON-LINE:READY. (smm 07/26/93)
