Use this information when you set margins through your software.

LEFT AND RIGHT MARGINS: The maximum printing width for this printer is 8
inches. When you print on 8 1/2" wide paper, we recommend you set the page 
width in your software to 8 inches. The printer automatically leaves left
and right margins of 1/4".

If you want a larger margin, set the additional margin through your
software. For example, if you want a left margin of 1 inch, set the left
margin in your software to 3/4 inch.

TOP/BOTTOM MARGIN: The TOP OF FORM function switch setting affects the
maximum printing length and top and bottom margins, as shown in the
following examples.

When you print on 8 1/2" x 11" paper, we recommend you use the default TOP
OF FORM setting (0) and set the page length in your software to 10 1/2" (or
63 lines).

If you want a larger margin, set the additional margin in your software.
For example, if you want a 1" top margin, set the top margin in your
software to 3/4".
