DMP-310 (260-2876) Running A Self-Test Faxback Doc. # 4716 To check the printer's operation and print quality, we recommend you run the printer's self-test before you connect it to your computer. Follow these steps to run the self-test. 1. Load 8 1/2" wide paper in the paper cassette as described in "Using the Paper Cassette" under "Paper-Loading Options." 2. Set the POWER switch on the back of the printer to O (off). 3. Plug in the AC power cord. 4. You can run the self-test in draft mode or letter-quality mode, as described below: * To print the test in draft mode, press and hold down VIEW FEED|LF/FF, and set POWER to | (on). When the printer starts printing (after about 6 seconds), release VIEW FEED|LF/FF. * To print the test in letter-quality mode, press and hold down VIEW FEED|LF/FF and ON LINE/OFF LINE, and set POWER to | (on). When the printer starts printing (after about 6 seconds), release VIEW FEED|LF/FF and ON LINE | OFF LINE. To end the self-test, press ON LINE|OFF LINE or turn off the printer. The self-test automatically stops when the paper cassette runs out of paper. (dkh-07/27/93)
