VM-4 (250-1020) Setup Faxback Doc. # 4910 SETTING UP THE VM-4 The VM-4 is easy to set up. Just connect the monitor to a compatible CPU, and you're ready to power up. Before connecting the VM-4 to a computer, be sure that the power to all equipment is OFF. Connect the RCA pin cable connector to the RCA pin jack located on the rear panel of the monitor. Connect the other end of the cable to the computer's video output connector. USING THE VM-4 Power up all equipment. Use your system owner's manual for instructions on powering up your computer and other peripherals. After power-up, you may need to adjust the VM-4 to compensate for your lighting environment. V-HOLD--This control stabilizes the display on the screen. When the display rolls vertically, rotate the knob fully counterclockwise and then slowly clockwise until the display slowly moves up and locks. H-HOLD--Adjust to eliminate horizontal "tear" on the display. Rotate the knob fully counterclockwise and then slowly clockwise until the display becomes stable. BRIGHTNESS--This control sets the background brightness level of the screen. Adjust until the darkest areas of the screen appear nearly black while the CONTRAST control is set around mid position or for easy visibility. CONTRAST--This control adjusts the "strength" of the displayed characters (lighted area) on the screen. Rotate it clockwise until the display is easy to read. A high setting may be needed in the brightly lighted rooms while low setting is best in darker rooms. (css 07/28/93)
