2400 BPS Internal Modem (25-3025) Features Faxback Doc. # 4922 Your internal modem is a 2400/1200300 bps Hayes-compatible modem that can be plugged directly into any one of the expansion slots in the IBM PC, XT, AT, 386/486, PS/2 Model 25 and 30, or compatible PCs. It supports all the cur- rent Hayes commands for asynchronous operation, including all S registers, AT commands, and dial commands. The modem supports the Rockwell Protocol Interface, to facilitate efficient software implementation of error correction (V.42, MVP2-4) and data compression (V.42bis), MNP5). With appropriate software, this modem will perform these functions as well as modems that do so via hardware. Communications Software: Your modem requires data communications software to operate; that is, to send data entered from the keyboard to the communications port of the PC and to display the data received from that communications port onto the monitor screen. Most communications software goes well beyond this point. For example, software with file transfer capability is capable of sending a file from your computer to another computer. Since the modem is compatible with the Hayes command set, you can use it with virtually any PC-compatible communications software. (css 07/28/93)
