Set the port your modem uses with the setup program on your MS-DOS/GW-BASIC
diskette or hard disk.  As set at the factory, the 1500 HD assigns the
RS-232C connector as the primary port (com1) and the internal modem as the
secondary port (com2).  You can change this setting by following the instruc-
tions in the 1500 HD's USER'S GUIDE.

Follow these steps to setup DeskMate to use the modem.

1. Press F10.

2. Highlight SETUP and press ENTER.

3. Highlight COMMUNICATIONS SETTINGS and press ENTER.

4. Press the down arrow until the underline flashes below the port assigned
   to the modem (com2 default) and press the space bar.

5. Press the down arrow again to place the underline under MODEM next to
   CONNECTION.  Press the space bar.

6. Press the down arrow to highlight HAYES in the Modems window.  Press
   (ENTER).  Then, press ESC twice to return to the desktop.
