INTRODUCTION

This interface board allows the use of an AT SmartDrive on Tandy 3000/4000 
systems that do not have a SmartDrive connector on the system motherboard.

FUNCTION AND OPERATION

The two primary functions of this interface are:

1. Buffer signals between host and drive.

2. Provide I/O address decoding for ports 1F0h through 1F7h and 
   3F6h through 3F7h.

Note: The SmartDrive Interface Board is designed for computers with a bus 
      speed running up to 8 Mhz. If your computer's bus runs at a faster 
      speed, then you must use the Reference Disk to change it to 8Mhz. The 
      Tandy 3000NL and 4000LX are examples of computer with a faster bus.
