DMP 205 (260-2904) Setting Up The Printer Faxback Doc. # 5722 CHOOSING A LOCATION When you choose a location for your printer, follow these guidelines: -Place the printer on a sturdy, flat surface to prevent excessive vibration during operation. -Be sure there is room for the paper to feed. -Be sure the printer and computer are close enough to connect with the printer cable you plan to use. Your local Radio Shack store sells 6-foot printer cables. For information about selecting a cable, see "Connecting the Printer to the Computer." -Do not place the printer near refrigerators, televisions, industrial equipment, or other sources of electrical interference. -Any device you place near the printer must have an FCC rating of Class B or better. -Do not place anything on top of the printer cover. Carefully unpack the printer. Locate the sample ribbon cassette, paper rack and fanfold paper guide. Keep the empty box and packing material in case you ever need to store or move the printer. Remove the tape from the top cover. Then remove the twist tie securing the paper bail to the plated and close the cover. (smc-12/07/93)
