Deluxe Power Center (260-0350) Operating Power Center Faxback Doc. # 5777 Some electronic devices draw a small amount of electrical power even when the main power switch is turned off. In order to prevent this small flow of current from turning on the other five outlets, the sensitivity of the AUTO SENSE outlet must be adjusted to a point ABOVE the small current flow. 1. Begin by setting the SENSITIVITY adjustment knob on the bottom of the unit to MAX by turning the knob fully clockwise with a screwdriver. 2. Plug the power cord into a 120 VAC, 60 Hz outlet. The green SURGE indicator lights. 3. Plug the device to be monitored into the AUTO SENSE 240 W receptacle. 4. With the power off on the monitored unit, plug a standard 60-watt lamp into any of the other receptacles. If the lamp lights, turn the SENSITIVITY knob clockwise until the lamp turns off. Turn the knob slightly more clockwise to prevent the Power Center from being turned on by power line disturbances. The Power Center might hum until this adjustment is correct. When the adjustment is correct, you can disconnect the lamp from the Power Center. 5. Turn on the power switch of the monitored unit. This automatically turns on the lamp or any other devices plugged into the other receptacles. NOTE: Additional adjustments in sensitivity might be required (as in step 4) if you plug a different device into the AUTO SENSE outlet. (smc-02/09/94)
