LP 4 (260-1159) Features Faxback Doc. # 5812 The Line Printer IV is an operationally simple, compact, high density, dot matrix impact printer which prints monospaced or proportional characters in line lengths up to 8 inches. the ability to print monospaced and proport- ional characters with the added ability to print double-width and condensed characters provides a wide variety of character styles. Monospaced char- acters may be printed at 10 cpi or 16.7 cpi, providing either 80 column or 132 column outputs for business applications. The printer produces high quality output using a heavy-duty print head to form up to 9 vertical and 6 to 18 horizontal dot placements to generate proportional (Nx9) characters. the printer also produces monospaced char- acters in a 7 x 9 matrix. the proportional and monospaced character sets consist of 96 ASCII characters each. The printer's three-way paper handling system allows the use of the follow- ing types of paper: 1. 9 1/2" wide standard computer fanfold forms, with adjustable position pins to ensure pin-feed paper registration. Paper can be multi-part up to three parts. 2. Roll paper, 8 1/2" wide, 1" core and up to 5" diameter. The printer includes a roll paper holder. With roll paper a built-in rip-and-read cutting edge allows removal of paper within 5 lines of the last line printed. 3. Single sheets of 8 1/2" wide paper, hand fed as with an ordinary typewriter.
