300 BPS DCM-5 Modem (260-1177) Parameters Faxback Doc. # 5841 CHANGING COMMUNICATIONS PARAMETERS After you power up the computer, with the DCM-5 installed, and load the communications software, you can change the default communications settings. you will be using some of the commands listed in Table 3 (page 23). For a thorough explanation of these commands, refer to the chapter 5, under over- view of DCM-5 commands. To see the current DCM-5 setting, type: *L. The screen shows the default communications parameters: MODE = A Automatic mode TYPE = O Originate F CD = Y Forced Carrier Detect (Yes) ASNW = 2 2 rings before answering DTRY = 1 1 automatic dial try TEST = N Test mode (No) NUMB = No specified telephone number RATE = S Slow dialing rate EXIT = 14 (ASCII 14) as the communications exit command.
