Talking Vehicle Alarm (490-0730) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 6130 Selecting a Location Select a solid, well-grounded metal surface under the vehicle's hood and behind the grill to mount the alarm (e.g. metal fender, firewall, or metal plate). Make sure you can conveniently route the alarm's red power wire from the alarm to the vehicle's (+) positive battery terminal. Note: Keep the yellow antenna wire straight and as far away from metal as possible. Caution: Do not mount the alarm on the engine or too close to the exhaust or other hot areas. MOUNTING THE ALARM Use the alarm's base as a template to mark the position for the supplied self-drilling screws. Then thread the screws through the alarm's base and into the mounting surface. Note: If the location you select is thick or hard to mount to, you might need to drill holes for the supplied self-drilling screws. Caution: Be sure not to drill into any existing wiring mechanisms.
