USING CALL SCREEN PLUS If you want to set the TAD to record all incoming calls but want to answer calls from a certain caller, give the caller your call screen plus code. When the caller enters the call screen plus code, the TAD continuously alerts you with a pattern of two beeps and a pause. If you do not answer the call after about 1 minute, the TAD hangs up. The call screen plus code is factory preset to 456. To answer the call: If you connected a phone to the TAD, pick up the handset and press STOP/ERASE. The tape rewinds to the beginning. New messages record over the old ones. CHANGING THE CALL SCREEN PLUS AND REMOTE SECURITY CODES The call screen plus code is factory preset to 456. The remote security code is factory preset to 789. For the best protection, we recommend you change the codes. 1. Dial your phone number. When the TAD's answer mode is set to on, you phone rings 2 to 4 times, the TAD answers and the outgoing message plays. If the TAD's answer mode is set to off, your phone rings for about 55 seconds, then the TAD beeps twice. 2. Enter the remote security code. The TAD beeps once to verify that you entered the correct remote security code, incoming message recording stops, and the TAD waits for your remote control command entry. 3. After the beep, press # and 1 to change the remote security code or # and 2 to change the call screen plus code. 4. Enter a new three-digit code. 5. Press #. The TAD beeps again. RESETTING THE TAD TO THE FACTORY PRESET CODES If you changed either the call screen plus or remote security code and forgot the new code, press and hold down STOP/ERASE and OGM at the same time until the TAD sounds a long beep. The codes reset to the factory preset numbers, 456 for the call screen plus code and 789 for the remote security code. (CJD/all-06/06/94)
