The TAD does not answer calls Check the phone line connection. Press ANSWER ON/OF so the MESSAGE indicator lights. Pressing the desired button has no effect Make sure AC power is connected. Press STOP/ERASE. Then press the desired button. Recordings sound distorted Re-record the outgoing message or memo. Clean the tape heads. Replace the tape. Remote security code does not access TAD Re-enter your remote security code, and hold down each key for at least 2 seconds. Try the factory preset (789). An extended power failure might have reset the code. Reset the code to the factory preset. Then enter the desired remote security code. Call screen plus does not work Tell the caller to try the factory preset (456). An extended power failure might have reset the code. Recorded messages do not include a time/day stamp Reset the clock.
