Model 129 (160-0829) Remote Control Faxback Doc. # 6298 You can use the remote control to record yourself in a scene or playback your recording from a distance on a TV connected to the Model 129. You can use the buttons on the remote control to perform the identical procedures as the buttons on the camcorder. To use the remote control, point it at the remote control receiver window on the front of the camcorder and press the desired button. Notes: Use the remote control within the range shown. When you zoom using the remote control, if possible, we recommend that you use a TV to monitor the picture. Set the power switch to CAMERA to use the remote control's REC START/STOP and ZOOM T/W buttons. Set it to VCR to use PLAY, PAUSE/STILL, REWIND, FAST-F, and STOP. Cautions: Be careful not to let direct sunlight or bright light from interior illumination fall onto the remote control receiver window, as this may prevent the remote control from operating properly. Be sure that there are no obstacles between the remote control and the receiver window on the camcorder. Disabling/Enabling the Remote Control The Model 129 has a remote control on/off function to help you avoid activating a function by accidentally pressing the remote control buttons while you are carrying the camcorder. The menu display appears in the viewfinder. 3. Press SELECT so the pointer is next to REMOTE. 4. Press Set. ON starts flashing. Press SELECT to change the display to OFF, then press SET to store the setting. 5. Press MENU. The viewfinder display returns to normal. (5m) 16-2300 pause remote control for remote control operation outside the range of the infrared remote control. The infrared remote control only works when it is pointed at the receiver window on the front of the camcorder, but the pause remote control lets you control the camcorder from all sides. 1. Remove the terminal cover by sliding it in the direction of the arrow. Then plug the pause remote control cable into the REMOTE jack. 2. Slide the power switch to CAMERA. Check that ||----- appears in the viewfinder. 3. Press REC/PAUSE on the pause remote control to start recording; the record indicator lights. To pause, press the button again. (BR/all-07/13/94)
