TAD-510 (430-0750) Error Indicators Faxback Doc. # 6319 The TAD gives you one or more of the following error indicators under certain conditions. Error Indicators: Eight short beeps sound. The ANSWER indicator flashes three times continually. The ANSWER indicator flashes continuously. The indicators occur when: There is a jammed tape. There is a broken tape. (The error indicator might start 5 minutes after the tape breaks.) The outgoing announcement or incoming message tape reaches the end during recording. You press ANSWER when no outgoing announcement cassette is installed. To clear the error indicators, press STOP. Then correct or replace the cassette, or take the necessary measures for proper operation. See "Indicator Summary." INDICATOR SUMMARY The following information explains the TAD's indicators. POWER Indicator Steady: The TAD is turned on and ready to operate. The indicator turns on when you connect the adapter to AC power. ANSWER Indicator Steady: The TAD is ready to receive calls. Flash: The TAD is positioning the tape. Continuous Flash: The incoming message tape is jammed, broken, or has become full while recording a message (Press STOP to turn off the indicator.) Continuous three flashes following eight beeps: The outgoing announcement tape jammed or broke during operation, or the incoming message tape broke during rewinding. The outgoing announcement tape has reached the end during recording. Press STOP to turn off the indicator. Off: The TAD is in a mode other than answer-and-record or announce-only. MESSAGE Indicator One to five flashes with pause between: The TAD has recorded one to five new incoming messages and they have not been played back. Continuous flash: The TAD has recorded six or more new incoming messages and they have not been played back. Off: The TAD has recorded no new messages, or all new messages have been played to the end of the last message. (LB/smc-05/05/94)
