TAD-276 (430-0762) Recording Faxback Doc. # 6370 You can record two different outgoing announcements. Before you can set the TAD to answer calls and record messages, you must record the first announcement that the caller hears when the TAD answers a call. In the first announcement, ask for the caller's name, phone number, and message. CAUTION: Do not tell callers that you are away. Instead, say that you cannot come to the phone. The optional second announcement plays when the message tape is full and callers cannot leave messages. You can state this in your second announcement and instruct callers to try again later. The second announcement also plays when you set the TAD to the announcement-only mode. NOTES: The total time allowed for the two outgoing announcements is about 60 seconds. For example, if your first announcement uses 25 seconds, the second one can use up to 35 seconds. If you want to change the outgoing announcement(s), you must rerecord the first outgoing announcement before you change the second outgoing announcement. You can- not change only the second outgoing announcement. Follow these steps to record the first outgoing announcement. 1. Press and hold ANNOUNCEMENT RECORD/PLAY for about 2 seconds until the indicator goes off and the TAD beeps. Then the indicator flashes rapidly, and the display shows A1. 2. Press ANNOUNCEMENT RECORD/PLAY once. The TAD beeps. 3. Record your announcement. Speak in a strong voice about 12 inches from the microphone. 4. NOTE: If you want to record the second announcement, go on to Steps 5-7. After the first announcement plays, the TAD is ready to answer and record incoming messages. 5. When the display returns to 00 and the indicator flashes rapidly, press ANNOUNCEMENT RECORD/PLAY, A2 appears on the display, and the TAD beeps. 6. Record your second announcement.
