Telephone Listener (430-0231B) Power Faxback Doc. # 6382 For the longest life, we recommend an alkaline battery such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-553. 1. Insert a coin in the slot between the front and back halves of the case. Twist it slightly to separate the halves. 2. Snap the battery connector over the terminals of a 9 volt battery observing the proper polarity (+ and -). 3. Place the battery on top of the cushion material within the case. 4. Replace the back cover and snap it closed. When volume drops or sound becomes distorted, it is time to replace the 9-volt battery. ALTERNATE POWER SOURCE You can power the listener with AC power by connecting an AC adapter, Radio Shack Cat. No. 273-1431. Insert the adapter's barrel plug into the listener's 9V DC jack and plug the adapter into a standard AC outlet. Caution: You must use an AC adapter that supplies at least 9-volts and delivers at least 300 milliamps. Its center tip must be set to negative and its plug must correctly fit the listener's 9V DC jack. The recommended adapter meets these specifications. Using an adapter that does not meet these specifications could damage the listener or the adapter. (CJD/all-07/14/94)
