Telephone Listener (430-0231B) Operation Faxback Doc. # 6383 The listener is equipped with a suction cup pick-up which must be attached to the telephone. Because telephone design varies greatly, experiment with different spots on your particular phone to determine the best placement. 1. Insert the plug from the suction cup pick-up into the jack labeled TEL PICK-UP. 2. Rotate the volume control to about its middle position (3). 3. Set the power switch ON. 4. Lift the telephone handset off the cradle. 5. While listening to the dial tone heard from the listener, try different locations on the phone for the suction cup. A good starting place is the left rear corner of the phone base. Another is the back of the handset, opposite the receiver earpiece. Continue to move the suction cup until you've located the position that has the best sound quality and volume. 6. Once you have chosen a location, test the arrangement by placing or answering a call. The other party should be amplified and easily heard over the speaker of the Telephone Listener. Adjust the volume to suit your needs. 7. When the call is over, set the power switch to OFF.
