ET-503 (430-1006) Operation Faxback Doc. # 6394 MAKING/ANSWERING A CALL For the best reception, fully extend the base's antenna and position it vertically. If the handset is on the cradle, lift it to make or answer a call. If the handset is away from the cradle, press TALK/HANG-UP. The TALK/HANG- UP indicator lights. To disconnect a call, place the handset on the cradle, or press TALK/ HANG-UP. The TALK/HANG-UP indicator turns off. NOTE: When you press TALK/HANG-UP, a single tone indicates that the phone accepted the command. Three tones indicate that you are out of range, or there is too much interference. Before you press another key, move closer to the base. If the interference continues, you can exchange the phone (within 30 days of the purchase date) for one that uses another frequency. REDIALING To quickly redial the last number dialed, simply press REDIAL. The redial memory holds up to 16 digits, so you can redial long-distance a well as local numbers. PAGING When you press PAGE on the base, the handset sounds a tone. This feature lets you page someone in another part of the house or locate the handset when it is away from the cradle. NOTE: The handset does not sound a page tone during a call. (CJD/smc-04/28/94)
