You can use the HS-229 with most modular phones that have a keypad or
dial mounted on the phone's base.  The unit will not work if connected
to phones where the keypad or dial is mounted on the phone's handset, or
to some electronic phones.

Caution:  Do not connect the HS-229 directly to a phone line jack or to a
          phone with the keypad or dial mounted on the phone's handset.
          The HS-229 might be damaged.

SELECTING A LOCATION

The headset amplifier connects directly to the phone.  You can mount the
headset amplifier and a flat surface such as a desk, shelf, or table, or
mount it directly on the phone's base.  Select a location where the
headset amplifier is:

Near the phone's modular handset.

Out of the way of normal activities in the area.

MOUNTING THE HEADSET AMPLIFIER

Once you select a location for the headset amplifier, follow the mounting
instructions.

1.  Use a damp cloth to thoroughly clean both the back of the headset
    amplifier and the mounting location.  Let both surfaces dry
    completely.

2.  Separate the two parts of the supplied hook-and-loop fastening tape.

3.  Peel and discard the paper backing from one part of the fastening 
    tape, then attach the sticky side to the back of the headset
    amplifier.  Do not cover the battery compartment cover with the
    fastening tape.

4.  Test fit the headset amplifier over the mounting location, noting
    where the fastening tape touches the surface, then mark the location
    with a pencil.

5.  Peel and discard the paper backing from the remaining fastening
    tape, then attach the sticky side to the location you marked in
    Step 4.

6.  Press the headset amplifier onto the mounting location.
